Here’s the thing: “You can have the best product and the most amazing service but if you do not learn to put it outside yourself you will never make the impact and income you want”
I learned this many moons ago at a masterclass I attended, but to be honest putting yourself out there is one thing, but being consistent with it is quite another.. The fact is: Inconsistency is killing you and your business
A video here, a post there and throwing in an interview is not enough, you’ve got to keep at it over and over again, even when you think no one is watching, because I promise you they are. I’ve been recognized internationally countless times, many of them coming as a complete surprise. There were times I honestly didn’t know if anyone even cared, then out of the blue an email would pop up in my inbox saying “Congratulations! We think you’re awesome and we’re going to reward you for it”
There are people out there who are admiring you from afar. They may not reach out to you immediately, but over time when they’ve gotten enough courage from your content, they’ll reach out…..but, It’s a noisy world my friend, so tor others to keep seeing you, you’ve got to keep showing up, so like a true marketer, I’m going to share with you the five commandments I live by to keep me visible when I think no one sees (or even cares about what I do)
Commandment #1: Get Social & Strategic
If you’re going to use social media, then use it correctly.
Know which platform to use as it relates to your target and be sure to vary your content in categories: informational, motivational, educational and sales. I’d also encourage you to shake it up a bit by going live, doing videos, creating carousels and more. There are a lot of options to help you spread the word about what you do but be strategic, there’s no need to be everywhere so don’t even try to be.
Commandment #2: Be sure to Collaborate & Connect
This one’s easy, just find somebody that you are just dying to connect with or even contact an influencer in your field and reach out to them and say,‘ Hey, what’s up? I admire you. How can we make this a reality?’ Collaborating with other like-minded people is always a good idea to keep you focused and headed in the right direction.
Commandment #3: Include Publicity & Promotion
It’s about time you get out of your comfort zone. You need to do different things in order to push yourself and get where you need to go. The good news is the media is happy to hear from you and will be more than willing to interview you for their publication or program. Curious on how to make this a reality? Click here
Commandment #4: Start Blogging & Building
Blogging showcases your knowledge and expertise on a deeper level. Show your people that you know your stuff and you are here to help them. Have confidence in yourself because nobody knows your business better than you. Everything you need is in your head, so just put it out, let people know what you are talking about and show that you are an expert in your field. You can even contact the newspaper or an online publication and ask them how possible it is for your stuff to be published (see Commandment #3).
Commandment #5: Play Nice & Network
Align yourself in a group that is basically on the same vision/mission and share. There are people out there who need to hear what it is you have to say and they need to know what you have. Pour yourself into that community, let them know who you are, what you stand for, how you can help them and how you can service them.
Not only are you going to turn those people into followers, but they are going to recommend you to other people and they will send people your way.
