Ahhh middle of the year……….for some, it could really be the worst of the worst. While most of our resolutions have fallen to the wayside, the end of year rush hasn’t quite reached as yet so many business owners tend to feel lost or even stuck. Trust and believe you’re not alone if you feel unsure what to do or where to turn to stimulate sales; throw into the mix summer vacation where the kids are home and it’s guaranteed to send anyone a tad bit crazy.

While productivity might be low, there are quite a few things you can do that can really turn things around. Here are four things you can do right now to help you get moving again.

#1: Get creative with your thinking.

I have absolutely no doubt that you’re a genius at what you do and that you have all these fabulous ideas just floating around in your head; let’s get them out there. Write them all down and put them into perspective. Decide what can happen now based on your current resources and what can shelve for a later date. See what creative flair you can add to really get people to sit up and take notice. What can you do to shake things up and get people to act, pay attention or increase their interest in you and your business? Maybe doing videos or scheduling live streams or even a pop up shop? Let those creative juices flow and allow your ideas to take shape. (……then smile to yourself because you know it’s all possible)

#2: Re-look at your brand’s image.

Remember, building a brand isn’t just about what you do but how you are viewed. If your current design doesn’t quite capture the true essence of who you are it may actually be working against your marketing efforts.

What does your brand say about you? Take a look at your colors, fonts, images, design and even your logo……..do they accurately convey the true meaning and personality of your brand? What about your copy, are you using the right tone? Are there spelling and grammatical errors?

How you present yourself to your customers matters so you want to be sure you’re putting your best foot forward.

If you’ve fallen short in this area, this may be the perfect time to consider re-branding and maybe do some online sprucing up, then of course, creating a marketing strategy that’s designed to attract the right people to you.

#3: Rediscover your ideal client and do some market research.

Is your stalker game on point??

Well it should be……..particularly if you want to know how best to promote and sell to your people; because it’s not quite enough to know who they are, you’ve got to UNDERSTAND them….how they think, move, act, react, purchase, etc.

So get your stalker on and observe your ideal customer in their natural habitat.

Figure out:

  • Where they are?
  • What stores are they heading to?
  • What are they buying?
  • Are they alone, with a friend, with their kids or their significant other?
  • Take a minute to just observe what they gravitate to.

Observe interaction online as well.

What type of posts do they interact with? Which posts seem to get the most engagement? Ask questions and get the necessary feedback.

Use that information in your marketing strategies to determine what media to use, who you should collaborate with or what products and services they desire most.

There is so much valuable information to be learned just by stalki— AHEM!!……I mean observing.

#4: Consider recruiting team members

This might be the best time to start looking for persons to help build your team. Think about who you might need maybe a social media manager, a virtual assistant or a marketing guru.

Gather the associated costs or better yet see if you guys can enter into a contra arrangement. The idea is to recruit now and not when you need it (aka busy season). See who you can seek out that will be a great fit for your brand so that it’s smooth sailing later on
